Local organizations to offer hot Thanksgiving meals to those in need in the Oklahoma City metro area this Thanksgiving. Families in need can attend a variety of free events around the area to celebrate the holiday. Events will start taking place this weekend, with additional meals to be offered on Thanksgiving day at some locations.
American Legion Thanksgiving Dinner - The American Legion Thanksgiving Dinner will take place in El Reno at 7:00 PM on November 16. The dinner is free with a canned food donation. The event is open to all ages and will also feature live music from the Jimmy Jordan Band. The event will take place at 2101 Sunset Dr, El Reno, OK 73036. Merry Thanksgiving - Merry Thanksgiving is hosted by Bethel Baptist Church in Norman. This event will take place November 18, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Worship Service will take place at 10:15 at the Sanctuary (located at 1717 West Lindsey, Norman OK 73069), followed then by a Thanksgiving meal at the Annex (1132 McGee Drive Norman, OK 73069). Thanksgiving Meal at CrossPointe Church Norman - CrossPointe Church in Normal will host a Thanksgiving meal this Sunday, November 18. Edmond Community Thanksgiving Dinner - The Edmond Community Thanksgiving Dinner is an annual event that is held at the Nigh University Center at the University of Central Oklahoma. This year’s event will take place this Thanksgiving, Thursday November 22 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. They will offer a free food to the public. Cookie’s Thanksgiving - Cookie’s Thanksgiving is an event hosted by Other Options, Inc. The organization plans to give 250 meals to those in need this thanksgiving. The event will take place at Sunnyside Diner midtown location, located at 916 NW 6th St, OKC 73106 on Thursday November 22.
Britton Road Church of Christ Community Thanksgiving Dinner - This year, the Britton Road Church of Christ is hosting the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The event will be opened to anybody in the community that would like to attend. It will take place on Thanksgiving day, Thursday November 22 from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Britton Road Church of Christ, located at 2520 W Britton Road, Oklahoma City, OK.
